For more information, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/windows-11-specifications?r=1\">windows 11 requirements<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to BIOS and enable:<br>TPM Device and TPM State &#8211; any setting with TPM enable it.<br>Also Windows 11 MUST run with UEFI, and is not compatible with BIOS or Legacy Compatibility Mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"235\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/enable_tpm_windows_11.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/enable_tpm_windows_11.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/enable_tpm_windows_11-300x71.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/enable_tpm_windows_11-768x180.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You cannot install on external USB drive, so you have to insert the storage media into sata interface install and then boot of usb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/windows_10_install_to_usb.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/windows_10_install_to_usb.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/windows_10_install_to_usb-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/windows_10_install_to_usb-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BIOS vs UEFI windows install MBR vs GPT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Firmware (first piece of software run by a computer)\u00a0 : UEFI \/ BIOS<br><strong>Basic Input\/Output System (BIOS)<\/strong> &#8211; can acces 16bit mode and 1MB of RAM<br><strong>Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI)<\/strong> or Unified EFI (UEFI) &#8211; native 64 bit mode<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UEFI has a\u00a0CSM(Compatibility Support Module)\/legacy BIOS mode, which enables an EFI to boot BIOS-mode OS-es.<br>ESP = Efi system partition<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Disk partition table (stored on the first bytes of the storage device &#8211; hdd,stick,etc) :\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Master Boot Record (MBR) &#8211; can only have 4 primary partitions, and hdd size of max 2.2TB<br>GUID Partition Table (GPT) &#8211; supports hard disks bigger then 2.2TB, 128 partitions etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>note : some storege devices are delivered from factory not initialized = without&nbsp; a partition table and your os will&nbsp; not see the storage device until you initialize it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bios will only boot either from a hdd that has a partition table of&nbsp;<strong>MBR with Legacy mode<\/strong>&nbsp;(or CSM\/legacy BIOS mode on an EFI-based computer) or&nbsp;<strong>GPT with UEFI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EFI\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; can only boot\u00a0<strong>64 bit<\/strong>\u00a0versions of Windows and only with\u00a0<strong>GPT\u00a0<\/strong>partition table<br><strong>BIOS\u00a0<\/strong>or<strong>\u00a0Legacy\u00a0mode<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; 32\/64 bit versions of WINDOWS with MBR<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Filesystems :<\/strong>\u00a0a set of data structures that facilitate naming files, locating them on a disk, and so on- that partitions are formatted with: NTFS, FAT32, FAT, ext2 (linux) etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you arrive at partitioning &#8211; you will need a GPT partition style.<br>You can use <strong>AOMEI Partition Assistant:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogger.com\/blog\/post\/edit\/5259051966090075009\/3088217667302616338#\">http:\/\/www.disk-partition.com\/download-home.html<\/a> &#8211; to convert a MBR partition style to GPT without losing any data. It only takes around 30seconds-1 minute for the operation to take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"932\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/convert_mbr_gtp_aomei-932x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/convert_mbr_gtp_aomei-932x1024.jpeg 932w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/convert_mbr_gtp_aomei-273x300.jpeg 273w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/convert_mbr_gtp_aomei-768x844.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.laptoparena.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/convert_mbr_gtp_aomei.jpeg 997w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 932px) 100vw, 932px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To open CMD during install press SHFIT + F10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you get a storage error that disk is not GPT go to cmd<br>&#8211; type diskpart<br>&#8211; list disk<br>&#8211; select disk 1<br>&#8211; clean<br>&#8211; convert gpt&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: this will erase everything on your storage device so backup first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Windows user &#8211; microsoft account or local account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During setup you will be asked to connect to the internet &#8211; either you have an ethernet cable pluged in or you will be asked to connect to a wifi network.<br>If you connect you will only be able to continue setup by using a microsoft account.<br>If you do not want to use a microsoft account and just use a local account disconnect from the internet and press back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you connected to a wifi network press SHIFT + F10 to open cmd and disconnect from wifi with: netsh wlan disconnect<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Add new local user<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>net user myuser mypassword \/add<br>net localgroup administrators myuser \/add<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Legacy windows 32 bit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case you need to run some old app that only runs on 32bits and you want to installa a 32bit version you might run into this error:<strong><br><\/strong>Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your computer came with windows 7\/8 64 bit set on a GPT partition with UEFI bios mode, and you want to install a windows 7 32bit you will have to set bios mode to CMS\/Bios\/compatibility mode and change the partition table from GPT to MBR, either by deleting all partitionsor by using a conversion utility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or you can install windows 7 64 bits without any further changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Download latest windows 10 image 2022&nbsp;22H2 https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/software-download\/windows10 Use\u00a0Rufus\u00a0to burn image to USB drive.
